Tim McGinley ’63 is a Recipient of The 2009 Distinguished Fiji AwardCongratulations to Tim McGinley who has been named a recipient of the 2009 Distinguished Fiji Award. The award is given annually to six Phi Gamma Delta graduates across the country. Tim has pledged his continued loyalty to the fraternity and Purdue University alike. He recently stepped down from his position as chairperson on Purdue’s Board of Trustees which he served for 16 years, and held a board position for a total of 20 years.
During Tim’s time on the board, the campus experienced many changes and advancements. Overall 70 facility constructions projects were completed, the faculty increased in size by over 500 members, and the amount of distinguished faculty more than doubled in nine years. He also headed the search that brought current Purdue president Martin C. Jischke to the university back in 2000.
