What's in a (Nick)Name?
Thank you to the brothers that answered the call for stories about their nicknames.

Jerry Weisenauer '59 a.k.a. "Wike" writes: "In 1955 I ran for Freshmen Class President.  I had a team of Pledge Brothers and attractive Freshmen women accompany me on my campaign through fraternity houses and independent mess halls with my campaign slogan of, 'We Like Wike.'  Dwight Eisenhower was President and had thrived on the slogan, 'I Like Ike.'  Eisenhower and Weisenauer were pronounced the same except for the first letter, so I capitalized on Ike being President by utilizing his campaign slogan as my campaign slogan.  I ended up as the Class Vice President, losing to an independent, but used the same slogan two years later to be elected Junior Class President .  I again used the slogan to be elected Speaker of the Student Senate my Senior year,  The nickname, Wike", has stuck with me over the years with my Pledge Brothers."

Did You Land a Job Thanks to Fiji?
Fiji was filled with many fun memories, and served as the foundation for great friendships that have lasted well beyond graduation. But we know that the Fiji connections have likely led to great job opportunities too. Did you land a job thanks to a career network formed at Fiji? Share your story on the message board.

Also, if you’re looking for a new job or looking to hire, the Fiji brotherhood is a great place to network. You can share your details on the message board, and hopefully find your next career path or great employee.

Not for College Days Alone
Michael Favo '84 writes, "Renee and I had the pleasure of getting to greet the new year by having dinner with Erin and Jed Young '84.  I had not seen Jed in person in 24 years, but got to enjoy his company, and his sense of humor, as if a day hadn't passed since graduation..not for college days alone!"

Have you recently reunited with other graduate brothers? Share your story in the graduate updates section.

Pig Dinner 2012
On behalf of the Lambda Iota chapter, we would like to extend our most sincere gratitude to brother Brian Lamb, who once again extended his wisdom and insight upon us at the annual Norris Pig Dinner. Acknowledged by Purdue University with the dedication of the Brian Lamb School of Communication, our brother and founder of C-SPAN took the floor in the pavilion of Rose Ade stadium to tell stories, which were “not for college days alone” as his humility and personality shined through.

During the event brothers George Sweet and Brian Lamb were presented with Golden Owl Awards, celebrating over 50 years of dedication to Phi Gamma Delta. As always, brother Joe Rudolph remained steadfast in his Fiji spirit. As the oldest graduate brother in attendance, Joe had the honor of kissing the North end of the pig and the youngest undergraduate brother, Grant Eibling, had the honor of kissing the South end of the Pig.
